Itinerary FOR; 9 DAYS Morocco Desert TOURs FROM Marrakech TO imperial cities and MERZOUGA DESERT:
Day1: Marrakech “arrival Morocco”
In our 9 days tour around morocco travel we have enough time for exploring a lot of wonderful places that you will never forget.
The first thing we will do is taking you to a riad or a hotel to have some time of relaxation. The driver who speaks your language will come in the evening to take you to Djemaa El Gnawa to have an entertaining night with shows by dancers, snake magicians and storytellers.
Then you will go back to have dinner in the hotel and stay the night.
Day2: Marrakech “Guided tour”
The second day is specialized for exploring Marrakech. So after breakfast we will go to the Menara Gardens , Koutoubia Minarets, the Saadian Tombs and the Bahia palace.
Also our tour includes visiting many places as the museum of Dar si said that is one of the best galleries of Berber Arts and crafts.
We will continue our journey after having lunch in a local restaurant . We will walk through the colourful souks of Marrakech.
Our day will be finished by visiting the Jamaa El Fna square then go to the hotel to have dinner and stay the night.
Day3: Marrakech /Ait ben haddou /Ouarzazate /Gorge Dades
The third day will be through the Atlas mountains and the small villages and waterfall and passing through Tizi N tichka mountain pass (2260m) .
Every night in those mountains will be special because of the change in the landscape’s colours by time passing .
Also it is a good idea to stop for drinking a delicious cup of mint tea while enjoying the beauty of nature. After that we will head to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah and we will visit the famous Kasbah which is considered by the UNESCO as an international heritage and also it is the backdrop of many films including the Gladiator, The Lawrence of Arabia , Babel the legionary and the sheltering sky.
There are many good place for you to visit and spend your holidays in as Ouarzazate town, the Kasbah of Taourirt and the film studios which are the most famous in Africa.
We will go to Dades Gorges by passing through the valley of Roses and Dades valley .
In Dades Gorges we will watch the sunset and then go to a traditional and romantic hotel to stay the night .
Day4: gorge dades/ Tinghir /Merzouga
After breakfast we will explore the Dades Gorges before driving through the road of thousand Kasbah and through Tineghier village and the Jewish Kasbah in the way to Todra Gorges where we will have lunch and walk there before heading to Merzouga desert.
We will come across Erfoud and Rissani. And the night will be at a nice Kasbah “hotel” near the Erg Chebbi dunes and have a delicious dinner.
Day5: Merzouga
Our day will be absolutely different . We will drive for about three hours and a half by the 4*4 passing some small villages to arrive to the desert dunes with its black volcanic rocks .
In one of the Berber villages we will have lunch with a Berber family in their tent.
We will reach a cave by a road used by the Daris Dakar rallye.
In this cave we will watch how the locals extract the fossils from the earth then we will have lunch . After that we will start our camels trek towards the Erg chebbi dunes, where we will have dinner under millions of stars ,while listening to the Bsongs and drums of Berber and Touaregs and of the populations of southern Morocco .
You will be very lucky if you watch the Milky way there. Also we will stay the night there.
Day6: Merzouga / Medilt /Azrou /Ifran / Fez
We will get up very early in the morning in order to climb the dunes and watch sunrise and have the chance to take wonderful photos from behind the Algerian border that in not away from Merzouga. Then we will go back to the hotel on camels to have a shower and breakfast. To start our journey to Fes.
On our way we will pass through Ziz valley and Rissani.
In Medid apple village we will have lunch before complete traveling through the Atlas mountains and the cedar forests.
Then we will travel to Ifrane that is a winter skyresort which is built by the French in 1930’s that resembles a Swiss village. Then we will reach to Fes to stay the night .
Day7: Fez “Guided Tour”
Our 7th day will be for exploring Fes and its narrow streets that are lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices , the wonderful Berber carpet and many art objects.
Mosques are interesting places to visit and we will pass through many of them as the Quaraouiyin mosque that is founded by Fatima else Fihri in 859 , and the Andalusian mosque that goes back to 860 . But it isn’t allowed for non-Muslims to enter them.
Also there are many places to travel in morocco, for example the Nejjarine fountain , the Medersas ( koranic schools) that are found in the 13th century, Bahia palace which is now a museum of Arts and traditional, Chouwara Tanneries .
Also we will visit Attarine souk which is the most beautiful souk in the city, Bab Boujloud with the green and blue ceramic, Mellah, the Kings Palace and Ibn Samantha Jewish temple. We will finish our tour by having dinner in a nice restaurant.
Day8: Fez / volubilis / Meknes / rabat / Casablanca
It is another exciting day full of brilliant places to visit. In our way to Casablanca, we will come across Volubilis which are nice Roman ruins, these ruins are magnificent and it is very delightful to explore them for sometimes and having an idea about the way people in the Roman Empire live in.
In Meknes that has wonderful views our trip begins through the walls of monumental gates, Berdaine Bab and Bab Khemis ,that go back to the 17th century .
Also We will come across, ( Rua) attics , ( Heri) and Stud.
There is only one mosque that allows to non -muslims to enter it which is Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail that exists through the famous Bab Mansour El on the square Hedim so we will visit it and have enough time for exploring this mosque .
Also we will visit a museum that has various handcrafts which is the Museum of Moroccan Art ” Dar Jamai”.
After lunch we will visit an area that overlooks the sea and is the capital of politics of Morocco, Rabat.
As we said before this day will be distinguished because of the fabulous sites that we will visit as the distinguished Red Ochre walls (5km long) that are dating back to the Sultan’s Yacoub El Mansour ruling period.
Also we will walk through the traditional souks, Kasabah of Udayas is a good place to visit because it was made in the 12th century by a trip of predators.
The final places that we will visit in our long day are the old mosque, Hassan tower that has varied colours , three sides of it are pink and one is great because of the see breezes and near this tower there is the Mohamed mausoleum . Late in the afternoon we will arrive to Casablanca where we will have dinner and stay the night.
Day9: Casablanca “depart Morocco”
We will leave to the airport after having breakfast and finish our fantastic 9 days journey.
