DAY 1: CASABLANCA – RABAT – FES

Your journey begins in Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital. After meeting your professional driver-guide, you will visit the extraordinary Hassan II Mosque, dramatically positioned along the Atlantic coast. Its monumental scale, intricate marble work, and soaring minaret reflect the finest achievements of contemporary Moroccan craftsmanship.

From Casablanca, continue to Rabat, the political capital of the Kingdom. Here, explore the elegant Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of the Udayas, whose white-and-blue facades overlook the Bouregreg River and Atlantic horizon.

In the afternoon, proceed toward Fes, one of Morocco’s most ancient imperial cities. Upon arrival, settle into your riad for an overnight stay, preparing for the following day’s exploration.

DAY 2: FES – MIDDLE ATLAS – MERZOUGA DESERT

After breakfast, begin the day with a guided visit of Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and intellectual center. Wander through Fes el-Bali, a UNESCO-listed medina renowned for its labyrinthine alleys, artisan workshops, and medieval atmosphere. Visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the famous tanneries, where traditional leather-dyeing methods have endured for centuries.

Late morning, depart south toward the Sahara Desert. Cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in the cedar forests near Azrou to observe the Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. Continue through Midelt and along the breathtaking Ziz Valley, where palm groves stretch across the arid landscape.

By late afternoon, arrive in Merzouga at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Mount your camel and ride into the desert as the setting sun bathes the sand in luminous gold and amber tones. Upon reaching your desert camp, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and live Berber music around the campfire. Overnight in a comfortable nomadic tent beneath a vast canopy of stars.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGE – AÏT BENHADDOU – OUARZAZATE

Rise early to witness the sunrise over the dunes—an unforgettable spectacle of shifting light and silence. After breakfast, return by camel to Merzouga village and begin the journey westward.

Pass through Rissani, an important desert town with a vibrant traditional market, before continuing to the dramatic Todra Gorge. Here, towering limestone cliffs soar hundreds of meters above a narrow canyon floor, creating one of Morocco’s most striking natural landscapes.

Proceed through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs and reach Ouarzazate, the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Benhaddou, an exceptional fortified ksar constructed from earthen architecture. This historic village has served as a backdrop for numerous international film productions and remains one of the finest examples of southern Moroccan design.

Overnight accommodation in Ouarzazate or a nearby guesthouse.
