ITINERARY FOR:  5 DAY TOUR FROM AGADIR TO MARRAKECH

DAY 1: AGADIR – TAROUDANT – OUARZAZATE

Your journey begins in the lively coastal city of Agadir, celebrated for its expansive beaches and modern seaside atmosphere. After meeting your professional guide, you depart inland toward Taroudant, a historic walled city often referred to as “Little Marrakech.”

Encircled by impressive ochre ramparts, Taroudant offers an authentic introduction to traditional Moroccan life. You may explore its bustling souks, admire local craftsmanship, and observe the rhythm of daily commerce in this culturally rich setting.

Continuing eastward, the landscape gradually transitions toward more arid terrain as you approach Ouarzazate, widely known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.” The city’s dramatic desert scenery and renowned film studios have attracted numerous international productions. Upon arrival in the late afternoon, you will check into a charming local riad, where you can relax and enjoy a traditional dinner before an overnight stay.

DAY 2: OUARZAZATE – DADES GORGE – TODRA GORGE – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA

After breakfast, begin the day with a visit to the Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate, gaining insight into the cinematic history that has shaped the region’s international reputation.

The journey continues through Skoura’s palm groves and the town of Kalaat M’Gouna, famed for its annual Rose Festival and fragrant rose-based products. Proceed into the Dades Valley, where winding roads and unusual rock formations create a striking natural panorama.

Further east, you will explore the magnificent Todra Gorge, characterized by towering limestone cliffs that rise dramatically above a narrow riverbed. After time to appreciate this geological wonder, continue to Erfoud, a town renowned for its dates and fossil craftsmanship.

By evening, arrive in Merzouga, situated at the edge of the Sahara. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be arranged in a comfortable hotel near the dunes.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA DESERT TOUR & CAMEL RIDE

This day is dedicated to exploring the remarkable landscapes surrounding Merzouga. Traveling in a comfortable 4×4 vehicle, you will visit nearby villages such as Khamlia, known for its distinctive Gnawa musical heritage, and Hassi Labiad, where traditional desert life continues at a measured pace.

You will explore sections of the vast Erg Chebbi dunes and learn about the nomadic communities who have long adapted to this arid environment.

In the late afternoon, embark on a camel trek across the golden sands. As the sun sets over the dunes, the desert is transformed into a canvas of warm amber and crimson hues. Upon reaching your desert camp, enjoy a traditional Berber dinner accompanied by music around the campfire. Overnight accommodation is provided in comfortable nomadic-style tents beneath a luminous Saharan sky.

DAY 4: MERZOUGA DESERT – DRAA VALLEY – AGDEZ – OUARZAZATE

Rise early to witness a mesmerizing sunrise over the dunes, a tranquil moment marked by shifting light and profound silence. After returning by camel to Merzouga and enjoying breakfast, depart toward Ouarzazate.

The route passes through Rissani, an important historical trading center, and continues along the scenic Draa Valley—Morocco’s longest river valley—lined with extensive palm groves and ancient kasbahs.

A stop in Agdez offers the opportunity to appreciate the valley’s agricultural richness before proceeding to Ouarzazate for dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional riad.

DAY 5: OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH

On the final day of your journey, depart Ouarzazate to visit the remarkable Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic architectural landmarks.

This fortified earthen village, once a strategic stop along trans-Saharan trade routes, showcases exceptional examples of traditional pre-Saharan construction. As you explore its narrow alleys and ascend to its upper terraces, panoramic views reveal the enduring grandeur of this historic site.

After lunch, continue your journey across the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi N’tichka Pass. The dramatic mountain landscapes provide a memorable conclusion to your adventure before arriving in Marrakech, where you will be comfortably transferred to your accommodation.
