Itinerary FOR;Imlil & Atlas mountains Morocco trip :

 Imlil -Atlas mountains 

Our trip is good for you to be away from the city traffic and noise and to be relaxed in the rural side.

To be there it will take with us for about 2 hours by 4WD vehicle or mini van   from Marrakech so we will take you at 9 am .

First we will go south up to Moulay Brahim Gorges , travel to Asni ,  which is a Berber village , and Saturday is the best day for our trip to Asni  because it is very  interesting to attend Asni’s traditional weekly market.

After Asni we will go to a Berber village in the center of Tobkal mountain  , Imlil,  where the climate is very cool because of its high and you will love to stay there for a long time.

We will stop in Imlil in order to meet a guide ,hire  some mules and find parking for our cars .Its importance comes from its position that it connects  between many Berber villages and many hiking journeys start from it .The journey from it will be more enjoyable on the mule’s back.

There is a guide who  will take you South to Aroumd (Armed) (1843m) to enjoy the beauty of nature of the western high Atlas mountains.  And in any trip you think about tasting its traditional food   of the place you visit  and  we will  take you to a Berber house which cooks delicious meals.

Why choose Imlil over Ourika?

As you know that Ourika is a tourist destination but we choose Imlil  for our trip for many reasons.

First of all, in order to enjoy your trip , you don’t want to stay a long time in traffic as what happens in Ourika and this traffic happens because of its popularity as a tourist attraction center and many tourist agencies guide people to it . And there it is difficult to find a parking for your car and you may  have to wait a long time in the hot climate

The second reason of choosing Imlil as the  place for our trip that is the service is very good and there are guide for the mules and the mules  take you to any place you want . While in Ourika  you have to walk a lot and this prevents you from enjoying the views also you have to be careful while walking on the rocky  roots  so it is not easy to take photographs but in the mules back it becomes easier because you don’t have to look on every place you walk on.

The most important thing  is that Imlil has  a less number of tourists and the only ones who you meet are professional hikers in Tobkal mountains who make adventures

 We talked before about the weekly market that takes place only on Saturday in Asni.

So it is a good idea to have your trip in this day .The market is very popular in the region by exchanging goods and animals  with fresh fruit, vegetables  and meat.

Don’t forget that  local  people here dislike seeing their photos on social media and magazine so that photos which are taken are very limited but we took some photos secretly .

Lunch in a Berber house? It makes a difference!

Having lunch in an outdoor place makes the holiday more exciting than having it in a restaurant as in Ourika’ s restaurants that costs a lot.

Because of that we know a local family that offers a delicious meals and you can eat in a beautiful valley.

Before you come back to Marrakech you may have tea then have a walls among the village paths or ride a mule at any time you want.
